OPERATIONS
LOCAL EXECUTION. GLOBAL PRECISION.
Wellpath’s operations extend far beyond our Houston roots. Through our India-based joint venture, WPESPL, we’re delivering directional drilling services backed by U.S. engineering excellence and tailored to regional energy demands.
With boots on the ground and tools in the field, we’re helping reshape the energy landscape in India and beyond.
INDIA JOINT VENTURE: WPESPL
In 2024, we partnered with Wellhead Equipment Engineers to form WPESPL — a registered Indian entity with the ability to bid on and execute directional drilling projects across India. Our role as the technical partner allows us to deploy U.S.-certified MWD kits, advanced motors, and seasoned DDS crews under local regulatory compliance.
This partnership was created to address a gap in the market: ONGC and other operators needed locally operated, high-performance DDS providers. With WPESPL, we’re now able to meet that demand with speed, scale, and service.

ACTIVE ONGC PROJECT SITES
As of 2025, WPESPL has been awarded multiple directional drilling contracts by ONGC, India’s largest government-owned energy company. These active regions include:
Mehsana Asset, Gujarat
2 DD kits deployed | Start: March 2025Tripura Region, Northeast India
1 kit live, additional underway | High-rate pilot programSilchar Asset, Assam
2 kits deployed | Known for high day rates and logistical complexity
Each region is supported by certified tools, WPESPL-trained Indian crews, and continuous oversight from both WEE and Wellpath leadership.
LOGISTICS & LOCAL CERTIFICATION
To meet India’s rigorous certification standards, our equipment is inspected and tested at WEE’s Vadodara facility prior to deployment. Wellpath MWD kits and motors undergo localized approval to meet ONGC’s operational requirements.
Key supply chain logistics include:
Tools air-freighted from Houston and Dubai
Custom clearance and staging through Mumbai & Mundra ports
Trucking and deployment to ONGC’s asset sites via regional hubs
HSE compliance aligned with ONGC and Ministry of Petroleum guidelines
We operate with agility, ensuring our equipment is on site when the rig is ready — no delays, no guesswork.
